Arts Celebration

Join the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore in supporting the Palisades Village Green and local and national conservation organizations. Their art exhibit and sale on Sunday July 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pacific Palisades Village Green, 15290 Sunset Blvd features 15 local artists displaying and selling their original landscapes. Allied Artists is a 20-year-old organization of local fine artists that paint representational art of the Santa Monica Mountains and beaches to promote appreciation of our environment and support conservation and maintenance.

“Changing of the Verse”

The City of Malibu Cultural Arts Commission and the Malibu Library’s second annual “Poetry Summit: Call to the Wall, Changing of the Verse,” a journey of poetry, music and art featured the City of Malibu’s new Poet Laureate Ellen Reich. Poetry and music formed the backdrop as outgoing Poet Laureate Ricardo Means Ybarra introduced Reich, who was appointed by the City Council as Malibu’s second Poet Laureate on March 11. Reich will influence, engage and promote the arts through 2021.

May the 4th Be With You!

The 42nd annual Palisades Will Rogers™ 5 & 10K and Kids’ Fun Run kick off the Independence Day celebration in the Pacific Palisades, beginning at 6:30 a.m. and ending at the Palisades Recreation Center. Later in the day, join the community at the 71st Annual Palisades Parade. This year’s theme “May the 4th Be with You” features skydivers at 1:50 p.m., followed by the parade at 2 p.m. at Sunset Boulevard, between Via de la Paz and Drummond.

Palisades Rocks the Fourth! takes place at Palisades High School, featuring a spectacular firework show accompanied by musicians providing the soundtrack, plus food, fun and family games.
