Family Arts Fest Features Jazzy Ash

Children’s musician Jazzy Ash entertains with her lively, family-friendly New Orleans-themed music at Pepperdine University’s Smothers Theatre at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. 

Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards’ performances are part of Family Arts Fest, a community event sponsored by the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include face painting, Weisman museum tours, backstage tours of Smothers Theatre and more. St. Patrick’s Day Gold Hunt

Bring the kids to help find Lucky’s pot of gold at Legacy Park. Hosted by the Malibu Parks and Recreation Department and Malibu Library, the event includes storytime, art activities, snacks, giveaways and a surprise guest. Gold Hunts take place at 10:15 and 11 a.m.

Orchid Magic in Santa Barbara

Thousands of blooms in every imaginable shape, color, pattern and texture will be showcased at the 74th annual Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. One of the country’s largest and oldest celebrations of orchids, this event takes place Friday, March 15-17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Earl Warren Show Grounds in Santa Barbara.

With the theme, “Orchid Magic,” the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show reflects the rich agricultural and orchid-growing history of Santa Barbara County. Displays of orchid art, photography and floral arrangements, in addition to a comprehensive workshop and demonstration schedule, provide visitors with a rich and unique orchid experience. The Santa Barbara International Orchid Show is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with the purpose of sharing the joy of the orchid world and educating the public about orchids; $14/general admission; $12/seniors, students with ID and advance group sales; free/12 and under.

Dancing With the Chamber Stars

The Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Installation Gala “Dancing with the Chamber Stars” at the Riviera Country Club featured a celebrity panel of judges, including honorary mayors Janice and Billy Crystal and Joe Montegna. The event honored Susan Payne for her two years as Chair and welcomed new Chair Richard Blumenberg. The event also recognized the 2019 Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce award winners: Best New Business Award: Estate Coffee; Beautification Award: Palisades Village, and the Mort Farberow Award: Arnie Wishnick.
