Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club 33rd Annual Home Tour Showcases Local Style
Anticipation is building for this year’s Home Tour and Holiday Boutique, a popular community event hosted by the Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club. The Home Tour, scheduled for Sunday, November 11, provides the opportunity for guests to view exceptional homes that have been designed and decorated by talented women, fitting in to the theme of Women Working Wonders.
“The Home Tour is an opportunity for the Woman’s Club to showcase the willingness of our neighbors to share their homes for the benefit of the Club,” says PPWC President Robin Weitz. “It is a day where guests and residents can be engaged, elevated and empowered by creative and innovative entrepreneurs, who are living and working in the Palisades. We invite those from near and far to join us and to experience this special event.”
This year’s Home Tour is co-chaired by Kathy Later, PPWC Vice President, and Weitz. An ocean view featured residence is a two-story bluff home furnished with modern furniture, collectible contemporary design, photographs and ceramic treasures from Galerie de Carole Decombe; these unique items will also be available for purchase. Gallerist Carole Decombe has two galleries—one on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood and one in Paris, France.
Another featured residence dubbed “The Mystery House,” is a a bibliophile’s paradise, with a myriad of books located throughout the house, along with an impressive array of playful and surprising design details. Designed by May Sung, of SUBU Design Architecture in Los Angeles, the Mystery House will also be featured in a major design publication next year.
This year’s Holiday Boutique, held at the PPWC Clubhouse at 901 Haverford Avenue, will feature a curated selection of specialty vendors selling apparel, handbags, gifts, accessories and jewelry—ideal for holiday gifts. The Boutique, held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is open to the general public and will be a shuttle stop on the Home Tour. Additionally, Estate Coffee will offer delicious sandwiches, salads, and baked goods, along with coffee, tea, water and lemonade, for purchase.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the PPWC raises funds to support a wide variety of worthy local organizations. Proceeds from the Home Tour are used to fund local grants to various organizations, presented on Grant Awards Night. Last year’s event granted $38,000 to 25 civic and charitable organizations. Past Grant Award recipients include Better Angels, Meals on Wheels West, Pacific Palisades Task Force for Homelessness, Pali Community Center Committee, Palisades Alliance for Seniors, Westside Ballet of Santa Monica and Westside Family Health Center. Additionally, the vendors at the Boutique, Estate Coffee and Galerie de Carole Decombe have graciously agreed to donate a percentage of sale proceeds to the PPWC for charitable endeavors.
Tickets for the Home Tour are $65 per person prior to the event, and $75 the day of the event. To purchase tickets, visit PPWC.org or mail a check to the Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club, P.O Box 292, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272.
